Are you using the correct driver? Does the driver have a setup/configuration program? I have never used a stylus, but the multi button tablet cursors need to have the buttons configured properly.

Are you using a Wintab driver? If so does the stylus it work properly on the desktop if not using AutoCAD?

I started using a Wacom tablet with AutoCAD 20 years ago, due to arthritis. It worked fine, it was actually quicker than using just the mouse. I used the pen with my right hand and the mouse with my left hand to pan, zoom and right-click. Problem is, as time's gone on it seems AutoCAD has got more and more tablet unfriendly. There are more and more commands that just don't respond to pen clicks. I'm currently using an Intuos tablet. Last week I abandoned the tablet and went back to the mouse, and already the pain in my hand is almost debilitating. Any suggestions - do I need a better tablet? Thanks!

WACOM has cornered the market, and as such, choices are few and far between and it appears for the most part their drivers have lagged.

Autodesk for well over 20-years now has deferred peripherals, drivers and support to those tools creators, they don't want to get into the hardware business.

Have you explored other "mouse" options that are not the classic rodent shape?

Thanks Pendean. I'm currently trying a Logitech ergonomic mouse, but it's actually worse than using a normal mouse - like wearing a splint, it keeps the hand still rather than encouraging it to move. The best solution is the pen, because it encourages the hand to stretch and flex in a natural way. If it really is the case that there's no longer a pen tablet that works with Autodesk products, I'll have to try more mouse designs - not a cheap process!

If typing is less painful than mousing maybe a programable keypad might help...it's possible to combine commands with mouse clicks for less repetition...I started using a keypad due to back pain, I have macros on the mouse buttons but for the most part I just use the mouse to steer...some more info here...

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/innovative-ideas/td-p/12932417

I use an X Keys...they offer a 30 day full return

Hello all, I had originally posted this question because I had a student
with severe mobility issues, which we never really resolved. We were never
sure if their mobility just got much worse or the tablet wasn't working any
more. But she won't be my last student with such issues, so I am glad to
see this topic still happening.

B
