Can you post such an example file here please and tell us which command is running while that happens? In some cases it can be that AutoCAD needs a lot of (or nearly all available) RAM.

Hey, is there a way to limit how much RAM Autocad 2021 uses? Right now on certain files Autocad 2021 will freeze up and crash the computer. If I look at task manager while the program has frozen but before the computer has crashed - it will show that Autocad 2021 is using 99% memory. I downloaded and installed the April 26th patch to Autocad 2021 and Windows is on 20H2, the graphic card's drivers are updated as well.

The computer is a windows 10 machine with 16 GB of RAM and an SSD.

Not seeing anything like that here:
Did you remember to install the 2021.1 update yet?
Is there a 3rd party add-on you have?

Read this too: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Saving-a-file-uses-up-available-memory-and-freezes-AutoCAD.html

What other programs are running on your PC, and does turning them off help?
