Hi,

Is it possible to create a tapered object like the one in this image which acts as follows, I've been trying allsorts and no joy.

Distance 1 will set the size of the biggest side.

Distance 2 will set the size of the smallest side, keeping the angle of 68 and setting the length of Distance 3 automatically.

If I understand correctly, you have set lengths for distances 1 & 2, and your angle must remain 68 deg. If this is a correct assumption, this is how I did it. I will use specific lengths for my example. I drew a line "distance 1" = 4 units, and to the left at a random point, a line "distance 2" = 2.6", beginning the second line at the bottom point exactly horizontal from the bottom point of line 1. I then drew a line of random length from the top endpoint of line 1 by typing in at the command line: "@6<202" which starts the line at the proper origination point and at the desired angle. This line is purposefully too long. Then I moved line 2 to the left or right, depending on where it was drawn in relation to line 1, by picking the top point and moving orthoganally until the endpoint intersects the angled line where the second point is then picked. Lastly, I drew a line "distance 3" from endpoint to endpoint at the bottom, which turned out to be in my example, 3.465 units in length. Then the angled line can be trimmed from line 2.

This method requires that Polar or Orthoganal tracking be turned on, Autosnap on with settings "intersection" and "endpoint" (minimally) checked, and keyboard entry for precise lengths and angles.

My image file skills are not very good. I created 7 but seem to only be able to attach 3 so I picked hopefully the most helpful ones. I am not skilled enough to put them all into one file that is small enough apparently. I hope this helps.
