Hi Dan, the link above worked for me and I can edit using Fusion 360 in the browser now. However when go to Fusion Teams, which if I understand correctly is how I manage classes of students to use Fusion 360 and share resources with them, I don't get the 'open in browser' for any of my Fusion designs, only 'open in desktop (see attached). We're not using the desktop installations, we only want to use the browser version which is fine for our needs currently. I'm hoping that students will be able to easily join the course team/group and start editing their own copy of shared resources in the browser version of Fusion. They're coming back next week, so I'm hoping to iron out any issues before then.. Any tips for making this is smooth process would be appreciated, thanks.

What I've done so far in Fusion Teams is create a group for my students associated with a particular project. So when they open Fusion 360 through a browser will they be able to see that project through the file open dialogue, or will I need to send them a link via an email?

Hi @joe_hudson3HSEU

With the Online version of Fusion, you and your students will need to open the files from within Fusion at https://fusion.online.autodesk.com. This is a limitation of the online version.

You are correct, Fusion Team is where you setup your classes. To help with your classroom setup, have you seen the attachment in this post: Autodesk Resource: Using Fusion Team and Folder-Level Project in the Classroom?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dan for the info and link. In the guide, step 1 is for students to either create an education licence or be assigned one, and the link given in the guide for assigning licences is manage.autodesk.com . However, on that page I can't find the page for assigning licences. Does adding students to a group in a project as I have done, automatically assign a licence associated with their email? Otherwise could you please explain how I can assign student licences?

Also if I don't create the folder structure for individual students within a Project, can they still access Fusion online and create their own projects which they can then export and submit as work?

Hi @joe_hudson3HSEU

Before assigning your students' licenses, you need to acquire the 125 licenses. See page 7 in the PDF Fusion Educator's Guide to Onboarding and Offboarding Students.

If you don't create a project and invite students to the project, they can create their own Fusion Team (first time they sign into Fusion, they should be prompted to create a Fusion Team. Note that exporting a file looks to a local drive and this is not possible with the online version of Fusion. They need to export files via their Fusion Team. Or your students can invite you to their project or give you a link to the file. Here is a link to an article that goes through this process How to share an Autodesk Fusion design.

Hope this helps.
