Mac: audio recording not working

I have Screencast version 2.5 on Mac OS 10.14.5.

I just bought a usb microphone, specifically so I could record audio on the screencast app. The microphone works fine with the Mac's native "Voice Memos App". But when I try to record a screencast, no sound is recorded.

• Things I've tried:

• Reboot

• In Screencast click the microphone icon and checkbox to "on".

• In Screencast click "Settings", check "record audio" and ensure my audio device is selected.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @ohthetrees , apologies for the inconvenience. Are you not getting the audio playback in the "preview" window (after recording) or on the website (after uploading)?

We have the audio editing available only on Windows, where we play the audio along with video. On Mac, we don't play the audio in the preview on the Screencast Recorder. Audio is mixed with video during post-process and should be available on the uploaded screencast.

They are varied from supported formats, operating systems, recording functions and capturing quality.

Many Mac users have such audio recording issues due to the strict rule of system. If anyone still has this problem and looks for a decent Mac screen recorder with audio, pick the one that's embedded with perfect audio driver.. For recording audio only on Mac 10.14 or 15, Voice Memo only outputs microphone sound, Audacity is a nice choice for any audio capture from system or mic..

We are adding the microphone entitlement to the Mac Screencast Recorder and this will fix the audio recording issues on Catalina and should be available soon.

Hi @fab.clayton We're actively working on a fix. In order to address this we've had to do some major rearchitecture, and it has extended our timelines.

I am also unable to get audio recording working, in fact, audio does not seem to work for me full stop. Even after uploading, there is no audio on my video. Is there an ETA for a fix on this?

Snap! -- no audio (at all) in Screencast on the Mac here in MacOS 11.2.2. -- this is crazy, even Microsoft Teams can get the mic sorted!

I'm having to report to Quicktime screen recordings -- or even worse, the Dell!

It's been over a year with no updates, but Autodesk continues to provide the download of the now very old, and very broken version.

Will this ever get fixed?

No Audio whatsoever on Mac screencasts.

Two years and still no fix!!!

And not a beep from you, if you're even GOING to fix it.
