I do not need a google search link. I am asking if anyone has taken Linked Lydia classes or the Auto CADD university classes and found them helpful for CADD.

Yes, I am well aware that landscape is specific. I have the degree. I am asking if any other LAs on here has found classes to be helpful and why.

Otherwise, if you do not know. That's okay but I don't have time for misc musings.

Class for AutoCAD

Good morning,

I have to be honest. The Landscape Architecture programs do not offer students much in the way of CADD training. I'm looking on AutoDesk for a comprehensive class for MAC CADD? No, I'm not interested in going to a PC. Is there a rep for CADD who can contact me?

It's frustrating to post problems here and what I really need is a better class.

Does the Auto CADD university have good classes? Or is Linked In better?

Thanks, Tricia

AutoCAD for MAC has limited penetration among AutoCAD users and therefore noticeably few class offerings exist, and they all are online too
https://www.google.com/search?q=autocad+for+mac+online+classes
https://www.google.com/search?q=autocad+for+mac+tutorials

Who has the best? That is too subjective, what works for one person in not going to work for another.

Just be aware, none of it will likely be "Landscape Architecture" specific, since AutoCAD is a general use CAD program and there is no industry/variant of AutoCAD offered currently by Autodesk on either PC or MAC platforms. If that is a dire industry-specific learning need, IMHO this is the wrong software for you.

..I'm looking on AutoDesk for a comprehensive class for MAC CADD...

Indeed, we all take classes all the time, everyone here is an end user just like you: most AutoCAD users in our offices for example prefer <STRIKE>Linked Lydia</STRIKE> LinkedIn/Lynda (learning is a never-ending endeavor for all of us) but none of us are LAs and your post's title is not going to attract any specific LAs if they drift in this forum somehow.

Auto<STRIKE>CADD</STRIKE>desk University classes are not geared towards MAC interface users, and not LT users on either platform either, so you need to confirm upfront the classes you find are generic in nature otherwise you'll find most of those classes challenging to follow as I read your many other posts in this forum struggling with just the interface and MacOS installation.

So, with that knowledge, how would you like to proceed?

FYI see this older post from a fellow LA, not much have changed since then https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-for-mac-forum/autocad-online-course-for-landscape-design/m-p/9321884#M37149

FWIW Autodesk does not have reps that call you, but you can call an Autodesk Reseller to make inquiries about Autodesk offerings for LAs and classes in your region or online if they are vested enough to assist with a general inquiry (most are for sure) https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller

You are being a bully. I'm reporting you again. This is not helpful and you have no idea about my education and no idea whether LAs are on here or not. You do not know anything about me and you are speculating. It sounds like you have a big ego. You do not know anything about my postings. I'm not going to reply to your remarks again.

Do not reply and please go have a nice day.
Autodesk does not conduct classes, their resellers or independent facilities do. Not sure what you mean by a "rep for CADD" to contact you? These forums are peer-to-peer, normally Autodesk employees are not here looking for people with issues. The few that are in the forums are not generally technical people.

Re: AU. I mean, it's hit or miss. Generally I would say yes, but how much will you really gain in 60 or 90 minutes? AU (Autodesk University) classes are much more about introducing users to concepts, ideas, etc. that students can take back to the office and explore, and because of the time limitations, just not geared for detailed instructional training. LinkedIn classes on the other hand can be longer and depending on your learning style (auditory, visual, tactile), can be a good way to pick up knowledge and learn more details.

Above and beyond all of that, there just are not a lot of design professionals specifically using AutoCAD for Mac, so I suspect what training you do find will be conducted on AutoCAD, so you'll miss out on all of the various features that are in AutoCAD, but not part of AutoCAD for Mac.

Good luck.
