I am having trouble importing this pdf. For some reason the text appears as boxes when looking from the top, however when I move to 3d it appears? This imports fine on Autocad on my PC

Hi @scoutctmarine ,

The cause of the problem is that on Mac you do not have the font that is used in the PDF file.

But this font is installed on the PC where the text is imported correctly.

I tried to import your PDF in AutoCAD for Windows on my side and got the same result as you got on Mac. That is because I don't have the font used in PDF installed:

So you need to install missing TTF font on your Mac in order the text import in PDFIMPORT works correctly.

Solution
To solve the problem, simply regenerate the PDF with a different software. The simplest way is to print to PDF. Here's how:

Open the PDF file in any PDF reader or internet browser.
Open the Print window.
<STRIKE>Change your printer. Select "Microsoft Print to PDF".</STRIKE>

<STRIKE>A file manager window will open for you to set the new PDF file's location and name. After you're done, click Save.</STRIKE>
<STRIKE>Go back to Kotobee Author and import the new PDF file.</STRIKE>
An alternative solution would be to save the PDF file as PDF/A through Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Open the file in Acrobat Pro and select "PDF Standards" from the Tools section.

2. From the newly appearing menu, select PDF/X.

3. Go back to Kotobee Author, and use the newly saved PDF file.

'

This may help you,

<STRIKE>Choose File > Import > File. Select the PDF file you want to import and click Import. If the PDF file has more than one page, specify the page number in the Select PDF Page dialog box. Use the slider to display a thumbnail image of the page you want, and then click Select.</STRIKE>
