How to recover a file after resetting AutoCAD Lt

I'm using a Mac. I was attempting to use a Hatch and ended up down a path that I couldn't seem to return from. So, I reset AutoCAD LT, which was apparently a mistake. When I reopened my file, several hours work were gone, although it had been set to frequently save. Also, when reopening the file, I get a message saying "Exception in acexperience.bundle. ARX Command", which I don't understand. Any way to recover my work?

LT for Mac is different to the Windows version, there is a temp folder where files are stored in the event of a crash, but that is in Windows. You would be far better off asking this question over at the Mac Forum, but in the meantime, I would suggest not opening the file as you might overwrite any backups, and see what the people over there say.

Looks like nothing was saved in your DWG file: did you manually save it while using it?
DO you have a BAK file you can rename in the same folder?

I went to the .bak file, but it reopened to something from about 3-4 days ago. I had since then (3-4 days ago) done a manual save (at least once, I'm sure -- usually at the end of the day). Any idea what "Exception in acexperience.bundle. ARX Command means"? It no longer shows when I open AutoCAD.

Thank you. I'm new to forum posting and my choice was either AutoCAD Mac or AutoCAD Lt. I didn't realize the latter wasn't for Mac users. Sorry.

once? End of the day? Then you probably lost your file forever, sorry. That's a huge risk you take every day with your workflow.

Get in the habit of manually saving often (15-20 minutes), set ISAVEPERCENT variable to 0 (that's a zero); this will give you more chances of never losing anything older than 20-minutes every again.

Then you're saying that the auto save feature is essentially worthless? If true, then AutoCAD ought to just eliminate it. Or, at least give a warning that it's totally unreliable. This is very disappointing. Fortunately, I'm retired and using AutoCAD more or less as a hobby. The loss is costing me nothing but time. Which, of course, isn't of much value for a retiree. But thanks for your response -- and your time.

Autosaved drawings on Mac are located in /Users/YOU_USER_NAME/Documents/Autodesk/Autosave folder. You can try to look for the last autosaved copy of your drawing there.

What AutoCAD LT version are you using? And what macOS version do you have on your Mac?

You may need to instal latest Update to AutoCAD LT.

WooHoo. That worked and I found all my latest work. I'm embarrassed that I hadn't found that folder earlier. I thank you very much. Since you asked, I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and AutoCAD Lt Version R.47.M.87.
