Hi.

I have downloaded AutoCAd LT for Mac 2020 recently and have an issue which Ive never noticed on any previous version.

When in Ortho mode if i want to move/copy etc to a snap point ie an endpoint/midpoint it is very unreliable and will often just ignore the snap point and move the object in a straight line.

Is there anything I can do to make this more accurate and less frustrating!

Many thanks

ND

Hi Neil,

I also noticed this problem on my side and I believe that this is a bug. The only one workaround I've found is to use polar snap with 90 degree angle instead of ORTHO mode.
I already reported about this bug, so developers are aware of it.

Hi

Thanks for reporting the bug to AutoDesk.

Further to the Ortho mode issue I have noticed other serious issues with AutoCAd Lt for Mac 2020. To the extent that I have had to uninstall and revert back to 2018 version which I was using before.

I'd like to be able to be more specific however the problems were just slowness really. For example moving round the drawing and zooming in and out of the drawing, changing commands, moving between DWG files all resulted in the 'Wheel'. It was if the software was too much for the mac to cope with.

I made sure to download all the hot fixes etc etc as per your advice on this forum and my Mac OS Catalina operating system is up to date.

To be honest this is not the first time this has happened over the years with new versions and it is extremely frustrating given the cost of the product.

Many thanks,

Hi Neil,

>>>>moving round the drawing and zooming in and out of the drawing, changing commands,
>>>>moving between DWG files all resulted in the 'Wheel'.
There is another bug in AC 2020, and I believe you see it on your side. To bring back AutoCAD speed you just need to remove all recent blocks from Recent blocks tab of Blocks palette. The "slowness" is the result of this bug with Blocks palette.
You can also set system variable BLOCKMRULIST=0 after you cleanup Recent blocks tab, this will prevent adding recently inserted blocks to it.
