&lt;P&gt;at first, I guess good videos for starters, I would miss some essentials like how to enter coordinates, using object snap, ... before going into edit blocks. &lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color="#333399"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Because blocks are locked, instances of blocks are &lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color="#333399"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; always consistent across projects.&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;My opinion:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Not true, as I define "projects" as a set of drawings, but a block "TABLE" in a drawing A can be different to a block "TABLE" in drawing B, so the wording "consistent across projects" is not guaranteed.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Also "locked" sounds for me like "not changeable" ... you can modify blocks, you can replace blocks (same name, other content), so "locked" (for my limited English language skills) sounds incorrect.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Statement in the video (at about 1:00):&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;FONT color="#333399"&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Blocks can not be accidentally stretched&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;True, but the bad sample in the video is that you have dynamic blocks selected at that time ... and the selected blocks have stretch parameters, a bit irritating &lt;img class="lia-deferred-image lia-image-emoji" src="https://forums.autodesk.com/html/@59C40FF4A66238AB63B8D5D30F650901/emoticons/1f609.png" alt=":cara_guiñando_un_ojo:" title=":cara_guiñando_un_ojo:" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Also not that beautiful: the dense of hidden linetype does not fit to the dense of the center linetype. In your sample the hidden should have a bigger ltscale.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;"the block in the dwg-file" is not correct, as in the file L-DESK.DWG does not have "a block in the dwg-file".&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Should be something like "insert the dwg as block into another drawing"&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Them are some rookie mistakes. The topper is "AutoCAD for Mac" being posted in this forum for the Windows version.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
