Hello @maxim_k,

Do you want to have dimensions in Model and in Paper space in different measurement systems?

Exactly, model space in US customary and paper space in Metric [mm] systems is my goal.

Please add more details, describe your goal. Why do you need different measurement systems?

My goal is to draft in model space in inches but be able to draft and edit my template and other objects in paper space in mm.

I tired using the DWG command to achieve this but i am not able to do it correctly if that is the means to do it. If there is another way please point me to it ?

Your solutions are appreciated always !

Hello Autocad Forum Super Team,

You guys always figure out solutions to my silly problems .

As the title implies i am trying to figure out a way to have my paper space units be in mm and keep my model space in inch. Can anyone help me do that ?

Something like this (see attached)

You need to create separate metric text and dimension styles for layout for 1:1 scale.

The only one thing - you have to decide which viewport scale you need to show geometry from Model.

Yes that is what i want to achieve.

I feel like i should explain what i am trying to do more to get a better answer.

I am trying to design a new title board and i want that one to be in metric (mm or cm) as i am used to working in metric more. I have a project at the moment the requires that i work in US customary units (inch / feet) so i need to have my model space be in inches.

And that is why i posted to ask on how to do this. As it stands my DWG units and insertion units are in inches and my paper space is as well. When i try to alter things in my title board i am prompted to do so in inches. FOr example i want to stretch a rectangle in my title board so the dimensions are prompted in architectural imperial format which i am not used to working with beyond a certain limit of fractions.

It would be much easier for me to have the paper space be in metric and the orthographic stretching, text size, etc be in mm or cm so i can alter them quickly, with ease and precision.

When you are working in Paper space, set units to metric, then all prompts will be in decimal units (you can treat them as mm). When you need to work with metric units you also can activate "metric" text and dimension styles, if you need to work in Model - set units to Imperial, activate "Imperial" dim and text styles. No problem at all.
