I am having trouble converting my solid drawing to a stl file.

I have attached the .dwg file for you.

It is possible that I have not converted it successfully to a solid.

Hi Paul,

There are only surfaces in your drawing, but AutoCAD can export to STL solids or watertight meshes.

In the attached drawing I was able to recreate your object as 3D Solid by using parts from surface object as cross sections (rectangle, triangle and circle in red color) and guides (splines in yellow color)

Then I was able to export to STL with different resolutions by changing FACETRES system variable before exporting:

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ACDMAC/2019/ENU/index.html?guid=GUID-5E9946B5-D769-4881-BC0F-21F54840683D

Dear Maxim,

I really appreciate your reply. It is very good.

I will soon mark it as the accepted solution.

I apologize for taking so long on this.

I had to do my tax return.

But I should be able to go right on now.

IS THERE ANY WAY YOU COULD GO THROUGH THE STEPS IN A LITTLE MORE DETAIL, ABOUT GOING FROM THE SURFACES TO THE SOLID? I USED THE LOFT COMMAND TO MAKE THE 3D VISUALIZATION. BUT I REALLY DON'T KNOW THE STEPS TO GO FROM THERE. DO I NEED TO USE THE LOFT COMMAND? OR WAS THAT WRONG?

START WITH THE CREATION OF THE SURFACES: RECTANGLE, TRIANGLE, AND CIRCLE.

WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?

OR THE NEXT STEPS.

FORGIVE ME IF I AM RETARDED UNDERSTANDING YOUR REPLY AS IT EXISTS.

SINCERELY,

Hi

Here are the steps I used:

At first I had to "extract" cross-sections and guides from your surfaces as I didn't have the original objects at hand. I used EXPLODE command two times until I got lines (parts of rectangle and triangle), circle - for cross sections parts and splines for guides.

Then I copied from exploded "heap" only objects I needed - one circle, three lines for triangle, four lines for bottom rectangle and five splines for guides. I need 5 splines, because one of the guides was divided into two parts for some reason.

Then I used PEDIT command to create closed lines from 3 lines (triangle) and from 4 lines (rectangle), then I used SPLINEDIT to join one of the guides.

The last step - creation of 3D Solid with LOFT command: I selected 3 cross sections and used Guides option to select 4 splines I prepared for guides.

And here is screencast:
