Help installing hatch patterns for AutoCAD LT for Mac 2019

Hi! I've been trying to add hatch patterns to my Support File Search Path folder (image 1 below) but the file names are grayed out. Can anyone assist me with this? I've also tried directly to Add Patterns in the Hatch Library (image 2 below). The file names show up but when I add them it says "Error in Pattern File" and nothing shows up in the Library. Help please!

Hi Tonya,

PAT. files are grayed out when you add folder with them in AutoCAD preferences window, because you add not hatch patterns themselves , but the folder with them. After you add folder with PAT files, AutoCAD will see them and will load to Hatch library.

Are you sure that all patterns are correct?
Can you attach here some of the hatches which shoes error alert?
You may need to compress them before attaching here.

I tried that as well. They loaded into my library but it says Error in Pattern File.

Here's the folder I downloaded. I also tried what you recommend with the folder and it still didn't work. I thought it might just be this file but I downloaded some patterns from other websites and the same thing happened. I appreciate your patience and assistance in helping me with this...

The patterns you downloaded are fo CorelDraw, not for AutoCAD. That is why autoCAD cannot read them.
Look for another place and pay attention to what program they are intended for.

Those patterns are not suitable for AutoCAD, they appear to be intended for some Corel application.

You should seek alternatives.

I'm pretty sure these are not Corel Draw files. The website says they're AutoCAD files:

Download AutoCAD Hatch Patterns

After downloading:

1. Unzip the files

2. Add the .pat files to either acadiso.pat OR acad.pat.

3. Create palette of hatch patterns

I downloaded the ZIP file from your link and the hatch patterns in there are nothing like the one single file you posted earlier. These work fine, but you have to get them out of the ZIP file first and into an actual folder. Are you doing that?=

The other ones are not for AutoCAD: open one of each in your favorite word processor and see, AutoCAD hatch patterns are just ascii text files, not gibberish.

Rather than editing ACAD.PAT just

1. place all of the pattern files in a separate directory.

2. add that directory to the ACAD source file path

3. look for the patterns under the hatching panel's CUSTOM tab

By the way, some of those hatches are duplicates of one another, and some will not work because someone renamed the file but the content is for a different pattern.

For Example: OMAHA file is RUBBLE hatch pattern, MELANO is HACKETT and more. These are the worst hatch patterns out there.

Try to find another source, these appear to be ill conceived at best.

Hi @Anonymous,

I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time adding custom hatch patterns to AutoCAD LT for Mac.

It looks like there were some issues with the hatch pattern files you were originally trying to use. Were you able to find .pat files that are compatible with AutoCAD? If so, you should be able to follow the steps in this AKN article to add the hatch patters into AutoCAD.
