Ok, finally. Yes, I know to click the Photos icon, and go from there.

What would be nice is to have a clip feature built right into Autocad so I don't have to go scrambling to my iPhoto or something else. Then have it automatically size the clip to what would fit into the forum.

I want to move 3d object "A" (very thin) so that the top surface lines up with the top surface of plaque "D". So I want to move point B to point C, while B is a point on a higher plane that plaque "D".

What would be the best way to do this?

I know this is so easy for you experienced users, but y'all could help this newbie zero in real quick.

is

Use ID command, find the XYZ of the spot to move to. Use Move and Osnap and move to that coordinate.

Use point filters when selecting the destination point, so you can ".X" and ".Y" (or ".XY") to get the two ordinate values in the XY plane, then you can ".Z" a higher point if you have something to snap to. If you don't, then you can select the destination point as "From...", pick the destination point, and then put in a relative location such as "@0,0,15". Or, drop it into place then do a MOVE with the relative distance.

Hi @ptplans,

As far as the cropping of your image, try using the Windows Snipping tool. It works pretty well and is included in Windows for free.

Thanks for those point filters. I am going to check that out when I have time.

All replies were helpful. I am going to mark this one as the answer.

However, I got it done before I read these posts, and it was really simple.

command line: copy

then specified base point,

then specified destination point,

then, voila, it was done.

Plus, I still had the original in place in case I needed it again.

Amazing all the help you get here on this forum.

Yes, the snip tool in windows.

Although I couldn't use it cause I was using Mac, it made me think of the Mac command shift-command-4, then pic area.

Thanks.
