Hi @ajobecreations,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD for Mac forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Typically importing a PCP is done in the Add-a-plotter Wizard but that is in the Windows version. I do not have my Mac with me today but I do not belive that there is a way to do this on a Mac. If you would like me to create a PC3 file for you on the Windows side, I can do that but I do not believe it will do you much good on the Mac.

Are you just trying to use this file for lineweights? It might be faster to establish your own plot style. Let me know if you need help with that process.

I am an interior designer working off a drawing from an architect. I noticed they sent .PCP files along with the .DWG files which I believe means the drawings were created in Revit.

I am having trouble finding a recently posted solution (for Mac) on how to utilize these .PCP files so that when I go to plot the line weights are accurate. Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding how these files work.

Thank you in advance for any advice you may be able to provide!

Hello! I appreciate the feedback and apologize for my delay in response. I was in the thick of a big project.

I think you're right on needing to create my own plot styles and could use your assistance with a good way to go about this (or I could start with some plot styles I have from other firms).

I guess I'm getting caught up on how using my own plot styles works when someone else creates a drawing under a different plot style and doesn't/won't share their plot style file.

Thanks again!

Andi

Hi @ajobecreations,

I am happy to help you set up a plot style. I assume you plot linewights by color.

If so, this can be fairly easy to handle. Most firms use 4-5 different linewieghts in a plot and some times have one or two additional for screened lines or for assigning a linetype to a plotted color.

Please let me know if you have colors mapped to lightweights and then I can walk you through the CTB creation.

Of course this won't help totally accommodate someone else's file but it should be a good starting point.

Often times when working with a consultant file, most firms basically Xref in the drawing and assign all the layers to a screened lineweight in the layer overrides.
