Hello All,

I am trying to edit a block and want to be able to see the information surrounding it, which includes a copy of the block that I am editing. I am able to see information surrounding the block that is not a copy of that block, but I need the information from the block to edit against. Is there any way of making this visible while I am editing in place?

I have tried XFADECTL as well as editing the annotative visibility in preferences.

Thanks,

G

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD for Mac forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

The Block Editor only shows the information contained in the block. If it is a simple block, you might make a copy of it and place the copy adjacent to the are you are trying to see. Explode the block, make your editing changes and then make it a block again with the same name as the original. This will redefine the existing blocks in the drawing to the newly edited version.

Hi G D'Angelo,

It is not possible to observe the changes you make in Block during in place editing. AutoCAD temporary hides all instances of the block you are editing and you cannot change this behavior.

Can you elaborate why you need to see changes in Block instances?

Maxim
