Object Snap does not work in Autocad for Mac 2017

Hi ~ I have just upgraded from Autocad for Mac 2016 to Autocad for Mac 2017 and am having a problem with the object snap function.

It does not work in the sense that the little green box indicating that there is a "snap" does not appear. I have checked the settings in object snap and they are the same in Autocad for Mac 2017 as they were in Auotcad for Mac 2016, but the problem does not appear in the 2016 version and only in 2017.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated - thanks.
