Error message when exporting to PDF (AutoCad 2016)

In Autocad 2016 for Mac I can see AND print 'black' lifework and hatchings just fine, but if I try to export from model or paper space black turns into grey.

I'm opening the PDF's in Illustrator, Acrobat and Preview. I've copied some of the lifework to a new file and it still exports as grey. I've draw a rectangle in a new file, hatched with black and it still exports as grey.

Please help!

Hi @Anonymous,

Are you using the "built-in" PDF or are using a another product such as Adobe Acrobat?

It sounds like you are using the Export to PDF. Does the same thing happen when you print and Save to PDF?

If you use the latter, you can edit the Page Setup and verify that you are applying a proper CTB such as Monochrome.

With File>Export you can override the Page Setup but this might be a bit trickier.

Now, for some reason a DWG from Autocad on windows will not export to PDF on my Mac. The same printers are listed but it stated it cannot export a custom page size.

Let's say I have a new document, what would be the correct procedure to 1) add a printer 2) specify the page size 3) ensure layouts will export as they should based on printer and appropriate page size that it can print.

I'm having more issues

It all to do with exporting (to PDF).

1) Changing the CTB to monochrome fixed the blacks exporting as grey but I also lose some colour with some lines? (not all)

2) When opening the PDF in preview on Mac, 90% of the line work does not display (not an issue, see below)

3) When opening the PDF in Illustrator and saving, all lifeworks is visible in all pdf applications

4) In illustrator hatching have a a lot of strange diagonal lines

5) In illustrator some hatches are 'messy'

6) In any application some lines do not connect/join up.

7) I can't export to PDF after changing something in page setup?

I can send the file but only privately...
