Hi Community,

I'm rather new to CAD software, just started not long ago. I've been having trouble getting material surfaces to show, especially with polished surfaces. The surfaces arent showing with dynamic lighting, or are just showing partially, like in the picture i've uploaded. could anyone guide me on the things that need to be set in order to have material faces show in detail? Thanks

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Have you tried to enable Default lighting in the drawing? If you turned it off while inserting new light, you can turn it on if you set system variable DEFAULTLIGHTING=1.
Another way is to add additional light(s) to the scene.

Maxim

Hi maxim_k, thanks for the reply. I have tried both things you mentioned, including adding more lights, however I haven't been able to come to a good solution. Haivng Default Lighting ON seems to make it too dark to even get a reflection, and adding additional lights to the scene hasn't done a very good job at making the scene realistic (e.g. only lighting the top faces, side faces remain monotonously dark, and so on.
