Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Kate,

It could take a lot of time to find the reason of broken permissions. If you are limited time now, you can try to create new user account on your Mac, login to it and launch AutoCAD. You also need to be able to access your documents (DWG files, so you can copy your current work files to the external hard drive or to network drive in order to be able to access them from the new account.

Maxim

To start AutoCAD, read and write permissions are required for the following folder:
/Users/katharineformosa
Correct the problem to continue.

hi all,

i have a presentation tomorrow and acad stated showing the above message. i have tried the suggesttions from autodesk but they are not working. this is what they have suggested:

You can recover from this condition by resetting the user home folder permission using the following steps:
Open a Terminal window (the Terminal app is typically found in the /Applications/Utilities folder).
Type: sudo chmod -R +w $HOMEand press return.
At the Password prompt, enter the admin password and press return (you will not see the password echoed).
You should then be able to launch AutoCAD normally.

THIS HASNT WORKED FOR ME. anyone know what else i can try.

thanks so much,

kate

If above solution will help you, you can finish your current project at least. Than you can return to your initial account problem in order to solve it.

Maxim
