I'm not an architect; I'm a retired engineer, draw only for personal use and would like to design a home and a few other projects. Searching for an economical drawing application.

I prefer to purchase software that I can keep and continue to use indefinitely without repurchasing updated licenses, and be able to reinstall in a different/new computer without having to worry about time limits. I don't want to have to pay for a license to continue using in a year or even a few. Don't expect to need to update.

Would appreciate some advice, Thanks

autodesk isn't the solution

all they offer now are term based licenses and you need to keep paying for it to continue using it
