Thank you!

But I think I found the problem. The camera was imported from an older 3Ds file, and when I replaced it with a new one and remade the animation it worked! Not very logical, the old camera rendered up to 29 frames... But I´m just glad it works right now!

Hi,

I have created an animation in 3Ds Max 2019, and now I´m trying to render it. But it stops at frame 30 evrytime and the dialog box say: Initializing renderer
Then nothing happens! Why is this happening and what can I do to make it work?

it is hard to really know what's your problem without knowing more about your scene, render engine and setup.

But I could take a wild guess from your screenshot, it seems you are saving straight to AVI and this will use all your RAM. or disk space.

It is not recommended to save animations straight to Video format, this can incur in many errors and you lose all your work.

It is always recommended to save your animation to frames, JPG, PNG, TGA or any other image format, then compile them on a video editing software or the same Compare render tool inside 3D Max.

But again we would need more information about your scene to be sure.

Ok... Interesting! But the thing is that I made a very similar animation a year ago in 3Ds Max 2012 (with MentarRay, now I use Arnold) and had no problems.

The animation is basicly an item swoping in from the left and at frame 30 the camera zooms in on the object. The problem start at frame 30.

I use windows 10 and have 64 GB in RAM.
Render in Arnold and the animation is 720x405, 400 frames. (A small preview render. It will be 1280x720)

Any ideas anyone?

Maybe in this frame appears more objects or some materials with refract or reflection properties.

Configure arnold with few camera AA samples or temporaly change your render engine to scanline and apply a standard material to discard render engine problems.

I don't think recommending to switch render engine is a good idea, not because something renders with one render engine it ensures that it will work with others.

Each render engine approach Gi, lighting DOF and everything else in a different way. Besides if the scene is a complex one, you'll waste more time switching than fixing the problem.

I think is better to hide an object, temporary overwrite materials, turn off DOF, motion blur and similar and debug that way.

In this case was a camera issue, maybe it was animated with a path on previews version and that Path was not imported, or the previews animation was shorter so something.

Glade is working out for you now.

Good!!.... in several years autodesk cant make a robust platform that avoid this kind of problems.
