I did change to brute force then it took even longer and there's still noise i couldn't render the whole scene so i changed back to irradiance map with noise thresh 0.005

Brute forceIrradiance map

Reduce the value in noise threshold for the bucket image sampler and global dmc, try with 0.005

Use brute force for primary engine.

Both changes will increase the render time but you will get better quality in general.

Hello @Anonymous ;

Change your Min / Max subdivs to 1-100

Change your Noise Threshold to 0.005

Change Light Cache sample size type to World from Screen

In the Render Elements, add VRay Denoiser

In the System tab, enable Use Embree

And use Brute Force GI + Light Cache for more accuracy as @Richard.Vivanco suggested already.

The main problem here is your VRay settings are all over. I am not sure if you are coying these settings from someone else or some old tutorial that you saw online.

Since VRay version 3.X all those crazy settings combinations are thing of the past.

You should just leave everything to default and only play with the Noise threshold and rendering time ( if you are using progressive method) that's all.

Brute force will produce better results overall and in some cases it will be even faster than irradiance, but if you need to squeeze the last drop of time you can use the irradiance present and you should get better results than what you have now.

In your case for your settings, your main problem is that your maximum sampling values are too low, you have 1 min and 6 maximum, that too low for anything interior-wise. Your Irradiance is also not correct but your main cause of the noise is low samples.

Default with progressive method is 1-100 with noise 0.005, that will render better, with Irradiance and with Brute force as first bounce.

If you go to bucket the sampling is 1-24 with noise 0.01 that's also good for most cases.

You also changed your antializing methof to Michelle, that too sharp, leave VRay Lanksos that will work fine most of the time.

Your gamma for some reason is 1.6 that's not correct for 99% of the monitors in this planet. just leave default 2.2

Your color mapping is logarithmic. unless you are matching your render with raw video footage, that method is not optimum, use reinhard instead and control your burning value, 0.5 or lower should work if you have bright lights but that's a try an error per case.

Take a good read to VRay help docs, everything mentioned here is well explained with simple demos that will clarify your question regarding how VRay work.
