Hi, I'm learning 3ds max and i got a problem after i've made the retopology of my object.

I exported it from zbrush (.obj) to 3dsmax 2012 and i tried to apply a material for unvwrap but it looks weird, I don't think it is correct. It may be a noob question but you will help me a lot.

It appears to me like you're using Planar mapping. Planar mapping is great for flat surfaces and hard-edged surfaces, but organic shape like your head model is best suited for Pelt Mapping. You can use Planar mapping by splitting your UVs into clusters/elements and relaxing the UV vertices, but you will end up with lots of seams. You can also stitch them manually after splitting them, but that'll take a lot of time and manual tweaking.

Pelt Mapping. This is an old, Features video that used to be on Autodesk's site, but it seems it's only available on Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjqY8i_-Xe0

If you are using version 2012, then there are newer features and tools. More info on Unwrap UVW Modifier from 3ds Max 2012 Help:
