You should disable autobump in Arnold Properties modifier. It cause losing details.

https://help.autodesk.com/view/ARNOL/ENU/?guid=arnold_user_guide_ac_polygons_ac_displacement_attributes_html

Well folks, I am still struggling with losing height detail in my rendered models [ especially timber ] attached are 2 pics. Pic 1 is what I see in Substance Painter using the built in Iray render. Pic 2 is as it renders in Arnold. you will notice that the grain/ texture is well defined from within Substance but compare that to the Render in Arnold and you will see that the Arnold render seems to lose most of the height detail in the timber texture. I am using the PBR metallic workflow and It does seem to be losing the height detail. I have tried using Arnold properties modifier and enabling Displacement and plugging the height map into there but has no visible effect. In fact I have tried everything I can think of but no success. I am obviously going wrong somewhere but am at a loss as to how to get this sorted. This is just a quick model in order to illustrate the problem.

@RGhost77

                            Thanks for your help with this problem I have disabled Autobump as you suggested and also attached a couple of screenshots of my settings. I still feel the texture is not as well defined than I get from Iray from within Painter. I am beginning to think it maybe something related to the lack of an Ambient Occlusion map . When I export from Painter using the PBR metallic roughness workflow there is no AO map generated. [ even though there is an AO slot in Arnold PBR metallic roughness node. I should maybe try exporting from Painter using the Arnold standard surface template as I am sure that does have an AO map.

Cheers.
