topic print a string onto the final render in 3ds Max Programming Forum

Is there a quick and easy way to render a string to the rendered image.

What id like to accomplish is to print the name of the file onto the rendered image automatically. I normally accomplish this in photoshop but It would be nice if I could eliminate that step. I have already figured out how to assign a strings value to the file name. Now I just got to figure out how to print it to the render.

Easiest would be a Text object + Extrude (or Bevel) and just move it into and out of shot at the right frames, or apply a material with animated opacity for a fade effect. Or render it separately and use Video Post to composite it in.

There may be a way to render text directly onto the image, but I don't know it.

simplest way I can think of would be to use a dotnet label, render it to a bitmap, and use pasteBitmap to paste it over your render.

I can't say (not work with fR), but it is possible the fR to has this feature built-in. Maybe because this is a too asked, some of 3d-party renderers already offer it, so just to save a time, made a quick search in the cebas forum.
