I guess this may happen by the DPI on the TV, being totally unable to reproduce the red line as it should because is something too thin... It happens if you zoom in?

I still, consider a bad choice to use a TV screen for this kind of stuff.

Hello, guys.

I have used and studied Max (2009) and (2014) for some time (on my own) and I have learned that edge selection is red. It helps you see the selection clearly since red stands out from all the white segments an object in Max shows. However, the 2019 version Ive recently installed in my computer does not show a red segment when selected. It is a mixture of white and light green making it really difficult to see clearly. I would like to know if it's bad settings, a gpu driver problem or a bug. I have reset max settings to default settings (by giving a different name to the ENU folder) but it didn't help.

Here's a printscreen of the problem. The selected edge is barely visible and quite different from the other versions:

I would HIGHLY appreciate if anyone helped me out with this.

Thanks in advance!!!

I don't see white but red on the screenshot so I'm not quite sure what you mean, but you might try lowering the antialiasing samples in the viewport settings if you feel the color blending along the line distracts you. Click the [+] in viewport top left and choose Configure Viewports and you'll find it under Antialiasing Quality.

Hi! Thanks a lot for taking your time!

I did what you suggested but still unsuccessfully.

Look how it is in the "lights" and in the shadows.

Please, zoom this one.

in the default lightsin the default shadowsAs you can see, it's not red in the lights but it's red in the shadows.

And regarding the first image i posted, it looks reddish, but not as red as I'm used to in the other versions of max. I need to really want to see what edge is selected and this is painful.

Thank you very much, mister!

Well, I wass addressing why it was different color against different background for you before, to change the color to bright red, change Geometry -> Subselection color to 255 0 0 and restart max...

Again, thank you very much for taking your time, really!

However, the colors are still different in different backgrounds even with the antialising turned off. And, the color in subselection was already bright red before. The problem still persists: different color selection for different "lighting"

Ok, this is super weird. Turns out I opened these screenshots on my tablet and I can see them red.

My PC is connected into my LED TV through HDMI and through the tv set I can`t see the red segment but I can with the tablet / cell phone. However, I can see other red colors outside MAX through the tv, except the segments in Max. Ok, I know it makes no sense!! OMG!
