i cannot remove edges?

Hello i seem to not be able to remove edges? im trying to UV a roof piece i have and when i used unwrap UVW it shows me unwanted edges making other faces that i dont want basically every single edge you see in this screenshot except the roof itself and the triangular hole in it are edges i dont want but back space and ctrl back space are not doing ANYTHING this is really frustrating are there any fixes? if anyone wants to take a look at it there is a copy of the object.

This is correct. The underlying datastructure of the PolyMesh needs at least a single edge connected to the inner loop to represent the openening in the mesh.You can`t delete this edge.

Of course you can "force" your own triangulation upon the geometry, like that:
