Hello guys i ve been trying for an hour to merge the windows, with the church as you can see below. I ve tried pro boolean but cannot make it to work , it deletes geometry from the church. The final result i want is to be able to merge both objects and delete the interior of the windows. Can someone help?

Hello @Anonymous ;

It's because your object (your building, in this case) needs more tesselation, a.k.a. faces. Try to give it a little bit more faces.

Can you try to attach all your windows to eachother then try using ProBoolean (Union), if it does not work, try to use normal Boolean, if it does not work again please do the following;

-Go to Utilities tab in command panel

-Select all your objects to be collapsed

-Click on Collapse and choose the operation option for your model

-Click on Collapse Selected

Of course i wont go deep into topology and blend your mind here, but this is not a modeling method that I would choose to create such objects, just a side note.

Kind regards;

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer though i solve this a little different( don't know if it's good or bad). I use the cut command so i "chop" the parts where the building meets the window. Now i can manage them like polygons . But i have another problem now. In those parts i apply a glass texture which i created in materual editor. When i apply the texture anf go to render the render won't complete or it will take a lot to , but when i remove glass texture it renders properly. I am jumping from one problem to another and this is getting on my nerves...

Hello @Anonymous ;

Cutting where windows meet is kind of a topology editing which is a good start for a good topology!

As for the rendering; can you provide more information? Your render engine, your material type, your materials parameters, etc.?

Sure. I use the default renderer in 3ds max 2018. As for the material. i chose from the material browser a standard map and change it form standard to raytrace. U can see the parametres in the photo and then i add on reflect map a fallof. Also i enable local supersampler in supersampling tab

Hello @Anonymous ;

Can you try to use Architectural Material type instead of Raytrace and choose a glass type from its templates and update me with your result please?

Below is the screenshot for you to find it easier

Same thing happening doesn't render the whole image.. i tried with the quicksilver hardware renderer and it seems that is working

If same thing's happening, there should be something different than what i tried.

Can you please share your max file with me? Please save it as 2017 so i can check it on various versions of 3ds Max.

If you don't want to share it public, you can just PM me.
