You did not apply Normals on the walls, you applied Normal on a Polygon of a wall. Turn of Polygon Subselection from the 1st level of your modifier stack and re-try please.

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if I can backface AEC Extended objects and specifically the walls. My work forces me to use the Walls and it's annoying navigating the walls without the backface cull that I can get when I use boxes. so is there a way to backface walls or have a function that would make navigating interior walls easily?

Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous ;

Apply Normal Modifier on walls, make sure Flip Normals option is active, then you can use Backface Culling as you do with Box objects.

I don't know what version of max you're using that it works for you. I'm using a 2020 version.

I made some test walls and applied the flipped normal then clicked on backface cull, I have attached a screenshot. and if I just apply the normal without backface cull nothing happens.

I'm sorry for late reply.

You can convert your Wall object to an editable poly and flip the inner parts of your wall to avoid this.
