You need to move the middle point used as reference for the Symmetry...

Inside the Symetry Modifier you can see a white "arrow-triangle" that can be expanded, you must choose there the axis and move it closer to your object so you will get both halfs become one...

Symmetry does autoweld ussualy, but its better to make sure this happens depending on what are you doing, you can also remove later the spline (and vertices) that gets created on the middle of the symmetry once the object gets turned into a editable poly if you dont need it.

Anyways, Symmetry is a very easy to use modifier, you should check some videos as It ussualy is pretty self-explanatory.

Hey guys I've got two issues, one is the "symmetry" modifier, I'm trying to mirror the second half of what's seen in the image but when I move it up the Z axis the top half moves with it, what am I doing wrong? My second question is I'm also trying to join together quite a few objects (as can be seen in the image) but I have no idea what modifier (if one) I should use to do this.

Hi Mate.

I thing you are still have Symmetry mode selected and you are moving Symmetry axis not the object.

Hope this will help.

Thank you

Irshad Shah

I had the object selected but it wasn't just moving the object. I'm not even sure how to select the other slider that's in the screenshot.
