I have some circles that I have selected with a window and used the Modifier List -> Trim Extend and then the pick locations button however the cursor remains a solid white arrow when I move the cursor over the circles and nothing will trim when I click over one of the circles segments. I would like to trim out all the segments that do not constitute one of the six petals on the interior of the circle in the center.

Select one circle, right click convert to editable spline. Then click on attach buttom and add the other circles.

Go to spline sub object, click on trim buttom, next click on the segment you want to trim.

I attached them in a group and used trim/extend modifier. I believe I read somewhere in the manual that closed splines might not be able to be trimmed. I am aware in AutoCAD there is a break command to "unclose" a closed spline. I will have to look further if one is available in 3D Studio Max. The circles didn't trim yet but maybe if I break them open from a closed position.

I did convert to editable spline first. Maybe there must be a little more to it like the use of slice or the inserting of a vertex.
