The problem is, when you have a cuple of objects anywhere in the scene selected, and want to move them away or together from each other (in all directions).

I tried to set working pivot in center and use the scale modificator but it doesn't work without scaling the objects.

(The movement transformation doesn't work due to 2D modification).

I know, there exists an easy solution for that problem - some years ago, I found a solution to manage this - but I have forget how it works. I'm searching a lot of hours and would be very glad, if someone can help me.
Thanks a lot in advance !!!

Hm ... thank you for your fast reply.
The result is exactly what I want to have. But I really know, that there exists another way, or only an additional setting, which it makes possible to transform without a scaling which only moves the objects.

Maybe with the function Hierarchy-LinkInfo-Locks.
But I don't know how to use this. I already have read all the chapters about transformation. In the past, when I got it, I was getting the info also not from the manual. I think I saw it in a youtube video.

I would bet in big money that there is no faster/simpler way

Not going to comment Hierarchy-Linking and all YouTube teachers, don't want to overuse "Dummies" in inappropriate ways🙄

You manage to scale back all objects at once with transform type-in?

I just remember, that also the point, from where the transformation has its source for each object, was free adjustable.
When using selection center in the method you describe, the transformation source is restricted to one point.

Is this possible when using a helper-object ?

What about, for e.g. when the objects are in one row, and all should move/transform even from the first object (transform-point is in center of first object, first object should not move. All other objects should move along one axis in proportion to the distance from first object).

I had to try a lot of things out before I found the solution::

1. create a dummy-object, from where the target-objects has to moved.

2. Select all target-objects, and create a link to the dummy-object.

3. For all target-objects, deselect scale-inherit to all axis in hierarchy-group/link-info.

4. Now a scaling of dummy-object, results in a movement of the target-objects even from the point of the dummy-object.

There is a constrain at point 3: when all objects are selected, the inherit-rollout is not available. Each object has to selected for it's own and setting have to be made for.

I would be glad, if someone could tell me, how to do this step for all target-objects in one step.

Best Regards

Mario
