topic How to "undo" or "attach" poly-faces that where detached to elements? in 3ds Max Modeling Forum

Hi,

I've got a problem and I cannot seem to find a good solution on the internet.

For UV unwrapping I prepared an editable poly by detaching several faces to elements.

So NOT to seperate objects but to different elements of the same object.

My problem is, I need to undo that step now since I made a mistake. But attach does only
work for different objects, not for the different polys of the same object.

Is there a quick way to undo that?

I tried to manually select all edges and weld them. The product seemed okay but even with resetting the UVs it would create a lot of green forced seams that could not be removed at places where they shouldn't have been. So welding didn't fully solve the problem or it created a different one.

Any suggestions are really welcome,

Greetings

Welding vertices should be the way to reattach elements. It seems that for some reason not all vertices were welded. Hard to say without more data.

Can you attach and archive of your scene?

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, it really was the problem. I didn't notice that when selecting all edges around a circumference at once they were not equal as one would also include some of the other surfaces. Manually selecting them again solved the issue.
