The only reason is that there is no edge to support it vertically. That's why all the edges are stretching horizontally.
When you add a vertical edge it will hold the horizontal vertex to stretch.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I'm kind of a starter on 3D modeling. When I apply Turbosmooth on the surface that you can see in the first picture, it has a little "edge" that should not exist, and it should be smooth. Is there any way that it can be fixed?

All the best

I have checked the image and the only problem is edge flow. Just follow the edge flow like i shown in my images. This will get the result you are looking for. Hope this will help.

Thanks and Regards,

Irshad

Are there any "technical" reasons why adding a new vertex with edges connected to it is a solution? I'm learning 3D modelling and just searching for new things.
