New to 3D modelling. Best way to learn?

So, I'm a university/ college student and we'll be learning to use 3DS Max next semester and I like being slightly ahead. Can someone recommend a good way to learn it? I like working from books normally so I can work at my own speed. I find videos annoying because I have to keep pausing it or their screen is blurry or some stupid problem. Also, money is rather tight so if you recommend a blog tutorial thing that's free or a book then obviously I could get it at my library. Thank you.

Just start modelling , learn how topology affects shading.

Well not following video tutorials with what youtube can offer it's a pity.
First, what element would you like to model?
Then find a video on youtube about this element and try, try once try two.
Then you will get used to it.

I would recommend Autodesk 3ds Max Learning Channel, LinkedIn Learning & Udemy.
But if you are looking for books, go to pdfdrive.com and type "3ds Max". Good luck!
