Hello,

As you can see for the image below, I have an imported model of a rubber cap (1). I need to show the cap in an open position, so I just tried to select the section I need to move (2) and rotate it roughly 90 degrees, but the faces pivot independently around themselves (3). How can I join all of the sections together so that it will roate as one?

It looks to me like none of the vertices are welded - if they were you would probably see distortion of the surface, but not each poly rotating individually. Even if it's all welded up you may have trouble rotating it how you want - select the same section as you have in the image then Detach to Object. Rotate it 90 degrees, apply a Bend and with suitable parameters (including moving the Gizmo and the Center and probably using the limits) you should be able to straighten the curved section. Attach the objects back together, position the "bent" part so it matches up with where it was originally (you may need to make some minor changes to the position of the vertices) then weld them up.

Steve, I found the Bend tool a little hard to use to get the quick results. But Stefan's method worked for what I needed (rough version below). Thanks for the speedy replies.
