Works here. Simple Plane converted to Editable Poly. Select edges, Split - result is 2 Elements. Try selecting all the Polys (either "element" will do) then click Detach and select Detatch To Element at the prompt. Should have the same effect.

Hi, I'm trying to split a planar mesh into two elements. VERY simple. In Edge mode, I select edges, 3 of them, very clearly splitting the object,...since the end vertices are on the border surrounding the entire plane, and then hit Split but when I come to try selecting the individual elements, no aplit appears to have taken place. Any help would be appreciated, Ta.

monks

hi, thanks for the reply...it didn't work for me. In the end...hmm...re-reading what you wrote...I did soemthing similar...I selected the polys then detached. Using Split didn't seem necessary.

monks
