    <description>&lt;P&gt;It looks like a problem with Smoothing Groups. &amp;nbsp;Try selecting all of your polygons, and go to the Smoothing Groups rollout in the Modify tab. &amp;nbsp;With everything selected, hit the Clear All button. &amp;nbsp;That will get rid of the gradients and black faces.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Smoothing groups work by assigning one or more&amp;nbsp;numbers to a face. &amp;nbsp;If the face shares the same number as an adjacent face, it will attempt to make the two faces appear smooth. &amp;nbsp;If they do not have the same number, you will see a hard edge between them.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
