You've probably figured it out by now, but probably no way to recover that if Undo doesn't record it. Not every function in Max is undoable. I've lost work many times by making the same mistake and clicking on something that erased all of my work. In a perfect world we would never click on something by mistake, but it's always going to happen and you just have to start over.

Just got done coloring an entire model in the viewport canvas with a basic color map. I clicked something(?) on accident and the save menu came up and I couldn't press the "continue painting" option for some reason. I clicked the x to close the menu and everything I just did got deleted. Is there a way to get that back? undo button doesn't work
