Hey everyone,

So I'm modelling this spaceship for a friend of mine, but I'm running into this really annoying issue with the Swift Loop tool. Whenever I zoom in on the model and get close to it, the Swift Loop seems to stop working. The loop preview disappears, but when I do click it still seems to create loops as I can see the edge / poly count increasing. When zooming out and checking where they are, they seem to be created at a completely seperate place on the model, nowhere near where I am placing the loop. Finally, the issue only seems to happen when my viewport's in perspective mode. When I'm in ortographic mode the issue doesn't seem to appear.

I've tried several possible solutions I've found in separate threads, like resetting the user settings by renewing the ENU folder, but nothing's worked so far. Strange thing is that this only seems to happen with this specific mesh. If I create a new mesh with whatever kind of primitive, there does not seem to be any kind of issue. Does anybody have any experience with this? It's really hampering my workflow so any suggestions on this would be great. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Ben

Thanks for the reply! I tried your suggestion but that only seems to influence the mesh and polygons that are rendered within the viewport itself. My issue is with the swift loop tool itself. I've attached the bottom two pictures, hopefully they kind of make sense since I cannot use print screen with my cursor.

I've often had this happen. I just zoom out and place the loop. You can always edit the location after you zoom back in. Bug I suppose, but after a while this type of bug just becomes a workflow.

Yeah I guess you're right on that one.. It doesn't make anything truly impossible but it makes it so much harder / annoying when trying to add support loops to your model, especially in the smaller creases. I guess I can try and use connect where I can but I guess I got a bit used to placing them by hand. Anyway, if anyone has more suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them!

From I can see if you select swift loop the loop preview appears.

If you zoom the preview disappears but:

If you click it will perform the action, even it is not visible. But it could appear the loop in the wrong place.

If you move slightly the mouse it will redraw the loop. But many times it won't

it seems a bug to me. I can understand why it is disruptive if you zoom often when having the swift tool active.
