      <title>Splines + surface modifier issues</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;As you can see in the title, I got some problem with my splines, because the surface modifier doesnt want to work out as I wanted to... I already searched a lot for the solution, and tried various things, but I still didnt solve it. I uploaded the max file, so anyone can check it out.       <description>&lt;P&gt;There have to be points at all of the intersections, which is not the case in your example. So you need to insert those for each of the splines that are intersecting at that position (Cross Insert sometimes works, depending on the radius you set, but oftentimes Refine is the way - especially because you have to insert the verts in both the splines and Cross Insert might sometimes ignore it if there's already a vert). Also, the Surface modifier interprets three- and four-sided segments only, but in this case that's okay, there are no extra verts, just a few verts missing.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
