can you be more specific in what you want to do? in max there is a section region which allows you to select a specific and then render that region. you can use the walk-through tool to view inside you're model and look around using started allow keys the ones without numbers.

the problem i find with the walkthrough tool is you have to save it to your computer memory view save active perspective when your in the perspective view then use the standard allow keys to move about and use the mouse to look up and down. to restore the views by using views restore active perspective which will restore the views back to the way it was when you've finished with the walkthough tool hopefully this makes sense i am not very good at explaining things.

there is a section tool which allows you to cut away apart of the model and shows you what is inside when animate

but i don't think there a tool like revit has that allows you to see what is inside your model.

Hi, I want to do what is shown in the video in Revit but in 3ds max.

Which would allow me to go from level to level, assign materials, add or delete objects, place and configure lights, etc.,In a precise way.

Because when you have a building with many levels is very difficult to assign materials, lights, objects, ... if these are different in each level.

Regards

OMG that is what showed in your video where the layers are in individually layed where you can hide and unhide them to expose the layers one by one. me with 7 years experience & certified by autodesk in max and your trying to tell me it's not the correct tool then do it yourself

and one final thing and as i said the only other one is the section spline is where you can animation the spline as it cuts into your model

No such concept exists in max, mostly because max is a poly modeller and doesn't use solids (which make stuff like this easier but come with their own set of limits). While there is for example scalpelMax from Cebas, it's not aimed at realtime scene scope management, although you could maybe try and use it for that. The only thing that sort of comes close to what you wanted are clipping planes. There's both viewport clipping and camera clipping, out of the two, the camera one might be more intuitive. You can setup a camera with near and far clipping planes active and whatever is in front or behind those planes won't be drawn in the viewport.

Yeah, there are quite a few ways to go about it, could be selection sets in conjunction with isolate mode, layers, xrefs, containers etc. The clipping approach limits scene navigation quite a bit, though I cannot say I haven't used it before, sometimes it's rather convenient.

Autodesk should provide Section Box in 3Dsamx, similar to the Revit Section Box.

I'm a primary Pro Revit users, and section boxes just one of these essential tools that you cannot work without it, once you are familiar with it.
