topic wrl import in 3ds Max Modeling Forum

I have imported a wrl file into 3DS Max 2018. It will not smooth. I think there isn't enough topology for the smooth. When the same wrl file is imported into C4D there is no banding or facets in the model. It comes in smooth. The images are rendered with Arnold. The renders also have little white specs on it. Don't know if those are small holes in the model or artifacts from the render.

Windows 8.1 Pro

i7-5960X (3.00Ghz, 8 core)

64GB RAM

3DS Max 2018

Brian P

I think I have found the issue. None of the polygons in the model are attached to each other. They are all detached. Is there a way to connect all the polys together in a model?
