I just started 3dsmax last week. And I'm using 3dsmax 2009. I was modeling a USB Flash drive. (a kingston) I started with the rotatable metal cover. I used a rectangular spline and gave it "muscles" with the rectangle tab under render tab under the editable spline modifier . Then I drew a cylinder and used Boolean to cut the holes in the cover. After that I used chamfer of the vertex tab to make curvy edges at the end of the cover. But the chamfer makes it ugly. Like I have selected only one vetex or something. But surprisingly one corner of the cover got it right. But the other side didn't.

I attached some screenshots. Please help me. :

Can you post a picture with edge of the object turned on? It would be easier to see what's the problem that way.

Try an Edit Mesh modifier>>Vertex sub object level. You would be able to manipulate the vertices to give the result that you want with significantly more control.

RSahay, edit mesh > Chamfer is old school, I forgot you could do it that way.

I'm betting your topology is awful, you should always have edge mode on (so you can see the wireframe) and have visibility of what the mesh is doing.

Make sure vertices on top of each other are always welded together. Boolean creates loads of extra edges and vertices, it's a bit messy.

Can you check if you have unconnected or unwelded vertices? Again, is it possible to post a screenshot of your model with SHADED + EDGED FACES? Would be easier to tell what's wrong that way.

Thanks.
But I did the same to the other side of the metal cover. That side didnt
got any issues. This time I sent a screenshot with edged faces on.
I'm just guessing- Does this happens because of selected edge in the
screenshot?
