Hello forums!

I have created a vehicle in 3ds max. I want to export it to another software. I have collapsed the exterior and interior to 1 mesh for export. I also moved the pivot to a custom place in the scene.

Now im just wondering, does it matter where the pivot is?, all faces, vertices and edges will scale uniformely eventhough it is one mesh right?

Thank you and i apologize if this seems like a stupid question.

*for example

if i have a mesh which is 100 meters long and there is a square X meters form the mesh. If i scale the mesh down by 50% will the distance of the square x / 50?

50% is half scale. Divide by 2 not by 50 (or multiply by 0.5) .

You should be able to scale uniformly in x, y and z. It shouldn't matter where the pivot is but I would place it at 0,0,0 before scaling as the scalling will be done relative to the point. Are you dealing with an editable mesh?
