drag+shift to add segment in 3d max

usually, when I modeling I can choose the edge (in edit poly) and drag it while I'm holding the shift key to get segments

for some reason, it is not working anymore

can you please help me with this?

Can you upload a short video clip of this issue? Would be helpful to identify what exactly is happening. Also, make sure that under EDIT GEOMETRY > CONSTRAINTS - is set to NONE.

Also make sure your KEYBORD SHORTCUT OVERIDE TOGGLE is toggled/active if it already isn't (See attachment-1).
