The logic behind this is that when you switch to another sub-object level, the last selected elements from the other sub-objects stay selected so you know what were the elements you were working on. unfortunately this behavior cannot be turned off.

Hello. I have this minor problem, but it annoys the hell out of me. When I switch to multi sub object preview selection the model becomes loaded with highlights. When I work on face or edge and than grab vertex, faces and edges stay highlighted and I can even see them through my model. Can I somehow turn off this feature ?

I understand that. But why can not I choose if I want to see my last selection ? When I do modeling, I need too see my model solidly and not some highlights from the back of the model of everything I clicked previously, which prevents me from seeing what am I working on. At least there should be an option to turn them off. There are other problems with this mode in 3ds max, for example - shift clicks do not make loop and ring selections on the model like in normal mode. What is the logic behind that ? I am a 3ds max user for a very long time, but even I must admit that In Maya multi mode is implemented much better. Seems like in Max it's just there for the sake of it, so you can say that it has this mode, but it is not practical and well thought out and does not speed up or ease the workflow when it could, if implemented correctly.
