Twist modifier does nothing to extended geosphere?

Hello.

I create a geosphere and using scale modifier, make it more oval and flat. Now I want to twist it slightly along it's axis, but when I apply twist modifier, I see only bounding box changing the shape, but the geosphere remaining the same. I tried to convert geosphere to editable mesh before twist modifier, but no change. Also tried to reset pivot point. So what I'm doing wrong?

Does twist work as expected on newly created geosphere that wasn't changed in any way?

Geosphere > FFD2 > Twist works fine for me.

Well, Since geosphere is round, applying twist on it won't make any changes 🙂

Also, I'm asking about TWIST modifier, not FFD2.

FFD is just one of non-destructive ways of achieving desired "more oval and flat" result.

After applying Twist to geosphere I can clearly see changes.
