I've been using this for years and it's always been a ball-ache.

If you select a new 'map channel' in the modifier window, it asks if you want to 'Move' or 'Abandon'

How about a 'Cancel' option, and then go back to the previous channel?

If you edit UV's, and then select a new map channel, and then select 'Move', it copies the first mapping channel onto the new channel. If you then want to copy those UV's onto a new mapping channel, it discards the original copying.

It needs redesigning as it's prone to 'work loss' and is just completely clunky. 'Move' and 'Abandon' just makes no sense, and copying is prone to failure - you can't check what mapping channel has the correct edits without editing other mapping channels. It's awful.

Match that with the last few versions propensity to 100% crash if you undo the application of a UVWUnwrap modifier, and you're completely screwed.
